Charter, marinas, berths

Cast off! Charter a houseboat or a recreational craft. Enjoy a relaxed cruise along the river Havel – and take a rest in Werder (Havel).

In the Potsdam and Brandenburg Havel Lakes District, Werder (Havel) convinces with its maritime infrastructure. More than 1000 berths are available in Werder (Havel), from simple water hiking rest areas to 5-star marinas with their select restaurants and water fuelling stations. Several Werder entrepreneurs are hiring out their boats. In the state of Brandenburg, you don't need a license for sports boats with an engine power of up to 15 hp. No sailing license is required for the waters of the state of Brandenburg.

When approaching the city of Werder (Havel) by boat, you will be greeted from afar by the skyline of the historic city centre – the Holy Spirit Church and the Post Mill are real eye-catchers. The Old Town is located on an island in the middle of the river Havel. It is a must for all skippers to moor here and explore the island city. Modern harbour and boat slip systems ensure that every leisure captain may enjoy their vacation on and by the water with all possible comforts.

Public moorings, marinas, guest berths, boathouses, and accommodations are not always immediately recognizable for water tourists who are unfamiliar with the area. The symbol of the ‘Yellow Wave’ serves as an orientation aid; it says ‘Welcome!’ and provides information about mooring options, marina amenities, tourist facilities, and sights.
